Filtration represents an important stage in the processing of
mining products. Already at the outset of this century the industry
made use of the advantages of dynamic processes by means of
rotating vacuum drums and disc filters.
Since the end of the 80´s continuously operating pressure disc
filters have been used throughout the industrial sector.
The pressure potential of up to 6 bar enables the dehumidification
of solid cakes with a high percentage of fines. With lower resi-
dual moisture a higher capacity is achieved at the same time.
The effectiveness of vacuum drum filters and conventional disc
filters is outperformed by far.
Typical fields of application of pressure disc filters are i.a. the
dewatering of coal, ore, and mineral concentrates, phosphates
and food.
Major advantages of the process are e.g. the continuous
dewatering / filtration of liquid / solid mixtures, low residual
moisture, low specific energy consumption and minimum space
requirements due to the compact design. |
