RollSizer

Based on years of experience in designing and using Double Roll
Crushers ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik developed the RollSizer
and introduced successfully this machine into the market.

Field of Application

The RollSizers are capable of crushing medium-hard rock as well
as sticky and soft material such as lignite, coal, clay, marl, lime-
stone and similar raw materials.

Mode of Operation

The material is crushed by shear- and tensile forces generated
by high rotor torques at a low circumferential speed. Due to the
arrangement of the crushing tools the fines in the feed can pass
through the crushing rolls similar to a roller screen without being
crushed. Therefore the specific power consumption, the wear
rate and the fines content in the final product are considerably
lower compared to other crushing machines.

RollSizers for Primary and Secondary Crushing

RollSizers are used to produce a clearly defined product size
with a low oversize content. By installing a RollSizer as secon-
dary crusher the material can be crushed to a final product size
of -50mm. The crushing ratio depends on the application and the
design of the RollSizer and varies between 3:1 und 6:1. Feed
capacities of 50 mtph up to 5000 mtph can be achieved and
lumps with a size up to 1700 mm can be crushed depending on
the RollSizer type.

Crushing Tools

The type of crushing tools, the fastening system and the design
of the crushing chamber depend on the application. Exchange-
ability of the individual segments, easy handling and a high wear
resistance are guaranteed.

Drive

The crushing rolls are either driven by a synchronous gear and
one drive train or by two drive trains situated both on one side
or one on each side of the crusher housing. One electro-mech-
anical drive train consists of electric motor, fluid coupling, gear
box and curved tooth coupling.

Main Advantages

Compact, flat design:

  • Low overall height of crushing plant
  • Easy integration in existing plants
Low fines content in the final product:
  • Low dust generation
  • No dedusting system required
